Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

Dr. J was a junior in college, and like many, she didn’t know what she wanted to do with her life. Luckily, her advisor recommended that she shadow different professions, including dentistry. On her first day, the oral surgeon was doing a full-mouth extraction case, and he was concerned that it would be too intense for Dr. J. Of course, it was the exact opposite—she was hooked and fell in love with dentistry right away! The rest, as they say, is history.

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

After completing her undergraduate education at the University of Texas in Arlington, Dr. J went on to earn her dental degree from the Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry. Over the years, she has expanded her skills through countless hours of continuing education, taking courses focused on dental implant surgery, Invisalign, laser therapy, and cosmetic dentistry. She also has her certification to provide Level 1 enteral sedation.

She is currently active in the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Dallas Dental Society, and the Academy of Laser Dentistry.

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

Doctor Jamaleddine and her family

Dr. J and her husband met at a party over 20 years ago, and they’ve been inseparable ever since. Today, they have four children (three girls and a boy), and most of their free time is taken up by chauffeuring them between their different activities. When she isn’t “on duty,” she likes to read and try new cuisines. Also, she tries to volunteer with the Texas Mission of Mercy whenever she can. But, between being a dentist and mother, she says that just lounging at home with friends and family is often her favorite thing to do!
